Frequently Asked Questions

Your guide to GPR rental, support, and usage in Florida.

Equipment & Rental Process

We rent the US Radar Quantum Imager Triple Frequency GPR system, one of the most advanced cart-based GPR systems on the market. It includes:
  • A triple-frequency antenna (1000 MHz, 500 MHz, 250 MHz)
  • A rugged Getac tablet with imaging software
  • Battery pack and power supply
  • Heavy-duty cart for easy scanning over pavement, soil, or concrete

Your rental includes everything needed to operate the GPR:
  • GPR unit, antenna, and cart
  • Getac control tablet preloaded with software
  • Battery pack & charger
  • Power cables and adapters
  • Carrying case for transport

Contact us by phone or email to reserve equipment. We recommend at least 48 hours’ notice, though we may accommodate same-day rentals when available.
Data & Interpretation

No. We rent equipment only. The renter is solely responsible for operating the equipment and interpreting the data. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified GPR analyst or engineer if you are unsure how to read the scans.

No. GPR is an investigative tool and results depend on site conditions, operator skill, and many other factors. The equipment should be used in combination with:
  • Original plans/blueprints
  • Visual inspection
  • Other non-destructive testing
  • Professional analysis
Training & Support

Yes. We offer optional training at $295 per hour, covering the basics of equipment operation and theory. Training is theoretical only and not performed on your job site.

Note: We do not provide on-site scanning services or interpret project-specific data.

While possible, we recommend training to get the most out of the equipment. GPR has a learning curve, and incorrect use can lead to misleading results.
Safety & Liability

Yes. The renter is responsible for complying with all applicable safety laws, including OSHA regulations. This may include:
  • Wearing PPE like hard hats and safety vests
  • Using fall protection where needed
  • Maintaining situational awareness of hazards

The renter is responsible for the full replacement or repair cost of any damaged or lost equipment, including damage that occurs during shipping. We encourage you to protect the equipment like your own tools.
Rental Period & Payment

Please refer to our Pricing page or contact us for current daily and weekly rates. Extended rental periods are available upon request.

We accept major credit cards, ACH transfers, and checks (subject to clearance). Payment is due prior to release of equipment unless otherwise arranged.

Additional days are billed at the published daily rate.
Delivery & Pickup

Yes, for an additional fee, we deliver and pick up within the South Florida area. Shipping outside this area is also available — contact us for a quote.

Yes. We’ll coordinate pickup and drop-off times once your rental is confirmed.
Technical Questions

Common targets include:
  • Reinforcing steel (rebar, mesh)
  • Underground utilities (metallic and some plastic pipes)
  • Voids and cavities
  • Concrete slab thickness
  • Some buried objects

GPR struggles with:
  • Clay-rich soils
  • Wet environments
  • Distinguishing between similar objects without expert analysis
  • Deep utilities (beyond antenna depth)

No. GPR shows reflected signals, but identifying what they mean requires training and sometimes other investigation methods.
Insurance Requirements

Yes. All renters must provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) with the following coverage:
  • General Liability Insurance with a recommended minimum of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, listing Solid Pave LLC d/b/a RentGPRFlorida.com as an Additional Insured. This protects against third-party claims for property damage or personal injury.
  • Rented or Leased Equipment Coverage with a minimum limit of $50,000 per occurrence, covering loss, theft, or damage to the rented equipment during the rental period.
These coverages protect both you and us from potential risks while the equipment is in your possession. If you are unsure whether your existing policy meets these requirements, please contact us for clarification.

You must submit your Certificate of Insurance before we release the equipment to you. If we do not receive a valid COI, your rental reservation will be canceled.
